I work at Swarovski and all our jewelry is rhodium or ruthenium which is a little darker than rhodium, almost like pewter. It's a derivative of platinum so it will not tarnish and is nickel free which is good because nickel is usually the cause of allergic reactions. Sterling will tarnish and can turn skin green or black like you said. With that said, rhodium is better than sterling silver.

Because it is only experimental at this time. I had it and was dismayed at its performance. I would say you need to get rid of it until it is better. Just go to control panel add/remove scroll down to windows IE7 and remove it. your old access will be returned.

If you want to have a dashed border, you should use "dashed" not "dotted".

second problem, according to your css snippet, you have your table embeded into a paragraph, which is not correct html. You cannot have a table within a paragraph (although a paragraph within a table is fine).

third, Opera is very picky with code. if you have any error in it, it won't try as hard to guess what you meant (and this _is_ a good thing!).

Validate both your html and css code (check out w3c validators).

Most likely, this is a video driver issue. IE is too tightly integrated in Windows. (Hence some very expensive lawsuites - but MS still hasn't learned)

At any rate... make sure you're running with the latest drivers for your video card, and the latest version of DirectX.

If removing the doctype statement lets the iframe load, I'd suspect there is something in your code that isn't proper xhtml. It's not unusual for one browser to parse bad code that another will reject. Try running your code through a validator.

Make sure the port is correct. Check the documentation for the default port. It may be variable for saftey reasons.

Win XP - Runtime error for win explorer and IE?

I have a new Dell XPS 400 running win XP. I have set up 3 users. Every once in a while, when I try to open Win Explorer (My Computer) or IE, it shows the following message and doesn't open the apps.

"MS Visual C++ Runtime Library - Program c:\Windows/explorer.exe: This app has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way..." . After this, when I look up the Task Manager, this app takes about 20 MB. In the normal case it takes up about 5 MB.

This problem happens randomly for any user and once it happens, there is no way to get it to work. I have to power cycyle the PC.

Also this is not a system wide problem. While one user has the problem, the the other user would be OK.

Any idea what the problem is? I got the latest windows updates and am running Mcaffee antivirus running automatically doing the updates...

Would really appreciate any help. Contacting Dell didn;t help much.

This is most likely a "stability" problem with XP that is inherent in the program. (Many complex programs have some instability!)

Don't feel bad, while I don't have that exact problem, I have similar problems with My XP.

Which exact problem appears depends on the Hardware, what you are running at the time, software versions, etc.

I have found no "sure" fix for the problem, and the microsoft techs are confused since it is an intermittent problem, and not repeatable on demand.

Especially since the error reports either are never generated, (no dialog box), or never match (have printed them out) exactly from time to time.

I just put up with it and hope it never interferes with something critical.

I didn't do anything wrong. It is my default web browser. Even if it wasn't, that wouldn't be affecting it. Anyone that hates Firefox, don't reply. I'm not switching to IE which is very unstable and would freeze on me all the time, and not even normal freeze but just wouldn't maximize again to where I could only close it thanks to task manager. And I did download it for Firefox. It automatically went to that one.

Yahoo! mail is the problem, not IE or Outlook. I can't find a fix for a problem when forwarding an email with pictures. It doesn't happen all the time, it's pretty random. Does this ONLY happen with "microsoft.com"? If so, it's a conspiracy! Just kidding! Try going to www.microsoft.ca in Firefox. If it opens, please try the following, in Firefox, and see if there is any change.

1. Go to Tools / Options

2. Go to "Privacy"

3. Go to Cache, Cookies, History, etc... and click on the "Clear ..." button.

Technically, there should be no reason why you cannot go to www.microsoft.com. If there is still a problem, then you really have a strange issue.

NOTE: There is no reason to download a plug-in to enable Firefox to "behave" like IE. This is not necessary. Also, defeats the purpose of using Firefox anyway. I have used the plug-in for testing purposes, so I do not have to reload browsers.

You can always do a FULL install of Firefox and download a fresh copy and install it again, if there are problems. Or even try the Opera web-browser.

Caling him President is showing more respect, and if you meet him in public it would be proper to do so. In writeing about him, it depends, if you are being critical of his actions, Mr or just his last name is better because it does not give mixed signals.

Yes, you are wrong. It is common for the British or Europeans to add the "Mr" in front of leaders. Simple cultural differences.
It isn't disrespectful...but I always understood that it was standard to refer to a current or former president as "Mr. President", or "President Bush", President Clinton", etc.

You're using outdated code and it's being phased out, FF is forgiving your mistake but IE7 won't cause its wrong
Try adding a non-break space tag (%26amp;nb sp; with the space removed) between the break tags. And are you really using a slash / with your BR tag? You shouldn't as it is not required to close a break tag (and if it were the slash belongs before the b, not after the r, /br).

My dad always said, "if you hang out with trash, you turn into trash." It is so true. It's not their fault for being poor (the kid) it's the kid's parents fault. It's in our best interest that those kids grow up wanting to be better than their parents however, I think we all need to pitch in by helping them out....charity events, contractors buying land and improving development in poor areas at reasonable costs, etc. Although I don't think the government should be hand feeding them, I think they do need help and some of it is beyond their control, however, they also need to get off their *** and do some work. We can also give them skills and make school graduation mandatory for them, so that they are confident and prepared for today's world. I think the goal should be for 90% of those graduates to want to go on to college....wouldn't that be something. I didn't say for them to be able to afford it, cause that's just asking too much, but for them to want it would be a start.

Make sure the port is correct. Check the documentation for the default port. It may be variable for saftey reasons.

you can't get rid of ie; it will always be there. So just use Firefox and if you don't like it, don't use it or uninstall it and go back to ie. You can open both browsers at the same time and compare them; but only one will be your default browser. Both IE and Firefox wll ask you if you want to make it your default browser.

Of course. I'd suggest keeping IE though because certain things aren't supported by Firefox.
You can always run IE. You should never uninstall IE becausge windows is so integrated into it (used for updates for example).
You don't have to uninstall IE to use Firefox. I have both and switch back and forth as needed..
IE is still on your computer. Firefox doesn't erase it or overwrite it. You can even use both at once, if you wanted to.

However there is no reason you SHOULD ever go back to IE. Ever.
You can have them both installed at the same time. You can even have them both OPEN at the same time.

But the truth is, I have never seen anyone voluntarily go back to IE after they know what a good browser like Firefox (or Camino) can do. The only times I ever use IE are for the very small number of sites that insist on IE. Yeccchh.

My Dell Inspiron (Windows XP) has recently (about a month ago) started having this problem where it takes forever to shutdown. This ONLY occurs after I use the latest versions of either IE or Firefox. In fact, if I just open IE without surfing and then quit, shutdown is totally fine. I've run various anti spyware software but I still can't rid of a hijacker on Internet Explorer. Is it safe to just uninstall IE by clearing out all the files from C:\program files? You can't uninstall IE that way. In fact you typically can't safely uninstall most programs by clearing out the Program Files directory, because there are usually registry additions and system dll files among other things unstalled in various places.

In this case uninstalling IE and reinstalling it won't solve your problems. If you want to try here is the correct way to uninstall and reinstall IE:

Go to Start%26gt;Control Panel%26gt;Add Remove Programs

Click Add Remove Windows Components

Uncheck Internet Explorer, click next and follow instructions.

Reboot computer.

To reinstall follow same instructions and Check Internet Explorer.

That most likely won't work, but in the event that it does, you should run Windows update to reinstall Patches and critical updates.

It is NOT safe to delete all the files from C:\Program Files.

If you absolutely must remove IE, do it through this way:

1) click on the START button, then select Settings
